REQUEST DEADLINE APPLIES TO NOVEMBER 3 GENERAL ELECTION; RETURN DEADLINES ARE DIFFERENT

TRI-CITY, OK — Oklahoma voters who want a standard absentee ballot for the November 3 general election must submit their request so it is received by 5 p.m. Monday, October 19, according to the Oklahoma State Election Board.

That is the deadline to request a ballot. It is not the deadline to return a completed ballot.

Registered Oklahoma voters may request an absentee ballot without giving a reason. Online applications are available through the official OK Voter Portal:
https://okvoterportal.okelections.us/

Some voters must confirm their address before applying. Voters should follow the State Election Board’s instructions for their registration status and ballot type.

For mailed absentee ballots, the County Election Board must receive the completed ballot by 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 3. A postmark does not establish receipt.

Hand-delivered absentee ballots must reach the County Election Board by the close of business Monday, November 2.

Different ballot types have different requirements. Follow the instructions supplied with the ballot rather than assuming every absentee voter uses the same process.
