Privacy

KTNB uses first-party aggregate analytics for pageviews, estimated daily visitors, traffic source categories, device categories and merchandise referrals. No advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts are loaded. Hosting providers process connection information for site delivery and security. Analytics retain daily keyed connection hashes for up to 24 hours and aggregate totals for 90 days. Raw IP addresses and referrer URLs are not stored in analytics. Daily visitor estimates are not exact counts of people.

Reader polls use an essential device cookie and a cryptographic hash for duplicate-vote deterrence. Votes are anonymous and stored as aggregate choices; we do not request names or email addresses. Basic rate limiting uses a keyed hash of your connection address, retained for one hour.

Tip and event submissions are reviewed privately. Unreviewed submissions expire after 30 days. Administrators can dismiss and delete them sooner. Approved event details may be published on the community calendar.
